Job Details Janevca Kitchen & Lounge is seeking an experienced full-time Sous Chef/Cook (40 hrs/week) to join their esteemed culinary team.

Janevca Kitchen & Lounge is a refined dining establishment that combines traditional and contemporary cuisine. Known for its exceptional service and inviting atmosphere, it offers a distinguished setting for both casual dining and special events. The lounge area provides a sophisticated space for guests to relax and enjoy drinks.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Execute the preparation and cooking of menu items to the established standards of excellence.
2. Oversee food preparation and kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
3. Manage inventory levels of food supplies, ensuring optimal stock and efficient ordering cycles.
4. Schedule and allocate kitchen staff to appropriate stations, overseeing performance and workflow.
5. Ensure high standards of food quality, and kitchen hygiene, and oversee buffet setups for special events.
6. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to find solutions to operational challenges
7. Assist in planning and executing special events or catering activities.
Job Description Requirements:

Several year(s) of proven relevant work experience in a similar setting
Completion of culinary education preferred
Completion of Secondary School
Excellent interpersonal & relationship skills, problem-solving, supervising
Ability to work on a flexible schedule, shift work may be required; weekend, nights

Work location: 429 Lampson St, Victoria, BC V9A 5K7, Canada.
Remuneration: $60,000 gross per annum
