Job Details Mother’s Dumplings Ltd. (trade name; Mother’s Dumplings) at 421 Spadina Avenue, Toronto Ontario is looking for a Head Chinese Specialty Cook for a salary of; $28.50 per hour for 40.0 hours per week.

Qualifications;
- Must have two year of experience or more in preparing and cooking a variety of Chinese style Dumplings and dishes.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends and overtime as assigned
- Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Completion of secondary school is required
- Basic oral English is required.

Job Description • Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese style boiled, steamed, pan-fried Dumplings, pan cakes and steamed buns.
• Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese style side dishes, soups, noodles, rice dishes and congee, Entrees and Desserts
• Ensure that food is of the highest quality according to the company standards and is served in a timely fashion
• Instruct and oversee the training of cooks and kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of dishes.
• Supervise cooks and kitchen staff in their relevant duties of preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Manage kitchen staff by recruiting, orienting, training, assigning and evaluating their performance
• Check food preparation, food storage, use of kitchen equipment and utensils to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices in accordance with company health and safety guidelines
• Ensure kitchen is clean and safe for food preparation in accordance with the company health and safety guidelines
• Assist in managing kitchen operations in the absence of chefs, if required
