We are looking for a talented Simit Baker who can also assist in preparing other beloved Turkish baked goods & deserts. While your primary focus will be on perfecting our simits, you’ll also have the opportunity to craft a range of classic delights such as baklava, sekerpare, revani, and more.. If you have passion for Turkish pastries and deserts, and a dedication to maintaining authenticity and quality, we want you on our team!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake simits daily using traditional recipes and techniques.
• Create a variety of Turkish sweet pastries.
• Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation across all products.
• Handle dough preparation, proofing, shaping, and baking processes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the bakery team to manage inventory, supplies, and timely production.
• Continuously monitor product quality and adjust baking methods as needed.

Job Description Qualifications:

• Experience: 2+ years in baking.
• Previous experience as a baker, with expertise in traditional simits and Turkish sweets.
• Strong knowledge of Turkish dough handling, pastry techniques, and baking methods.

Education: Secondary school diploma.
Skills: Proficient in baking techniques, attention to detail, good time management, effective communication, and physical stamina.

• Work location:2268 W. 4th Ave, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6K 1N8.
• Flexibility in shift work required. Early mornings!
• Competitive salary of $19 per hour. 40 hrs/wk
