Starting compensation: $47.50 per hour

Hours of work: 40 hours/week
Benefits: a comprehensive benefits package after 6 months of continuous employment, including health spending account of $1500 per calendar year. Financial assistance available for purchase of personal dive equipment. Food and accommodation are supplied for various camp-based working locations on Vancouver Island. 10 working days of paid vacation, WCB.
Education:
• Completion of secondary school,
• Qualifications and certifications as commercial diver: Certificate of Competency issued by the Diver Certificate Board of Canada (DCBC), or qualification earned through a formal education program for SCUBA and/or SURFACE SUPPLY, WorkSafe BC & CSA Standard Z275.4-02, Competency Standard for Diving Operations, DiveSafe, Emergency first response, certificate of medical fitness for occupational diver, Oxygen therapy, Tools for surface supplied commercial diver, WHIMIS,
• Qualifications and certifications as commercial dive supervisor: Diveco Dive Supervisor Role And Responsibilities, Safe Diving Procedures, Emergency Response Procedures, Dive Operations Logbook: Crew briefing Info & Data, Daily Dive Activity Log, WorkSafeBC Diving Supervisors Handbook, Diligence Diving Inspection Checklist, Divesafe dive supervisor program, Occupational Health and Safety program for Dive Supervisors.
Requirements:
• Must have prior experience as commercial/occupational diver in Canada (2 years or more),
• Must have operational knowledge of English,
• Must possess the ability adapt to flexible schedule,
• Must be safety-oriented,
• Must have excellent problem-solving abilities,
• Must have positive attitude and work well in a team environment,
• Good housekeeping skills is an asset,
• Must have the ability to remain calm & communicate clearly during emergencies,
• Must be physically & mentally competent to operate in a safe diving environment and effectively perform all required duties.

Job Description
• General Diving support of Salmon Aquaculture facilities and associated equipment,
• Management of diving time and divers resources to reach objectives set up by the customer,
• A flexible schedule to adapt to the changing needs of our customers is required
• Follow all rules & regulations as presented by the project specific safety orientation of you and your team, as well as the requirements of the owner and applicable WorkSafe BC Regulations,
• Maintain all daily and shift documentation requirements in accordance with regulatory and customer requirements,
• Ensure all crew have up to date required certifications, equipment maintenance records & updated logbooks,
• Conduct quarterly “Mock” drills with your crew as per regulations & company policy,
• Ensure all daily and shift inspections of the vessels, compressors & dive related equipment,
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment through regular delegation of your team,
• Requisition of diving supplies & equipment for smooth operation of the team,
• Participate & contribute to all safety related risk assessment meetings,
• Perform duties as commercial diver as needed to service salmon aquaculture facilities.
