Job Description Responsibilities
Tasks

Coordinate access and use of computer networks
Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks
Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software
Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software
Provide problem-solving services to network users
Implement data, software and hardware security procedures
Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records
Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
Modify Web pages, applets and scripts
Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines
Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers
Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations
Working at mountain division team supporting Grouse Mountain Resort (GMR), Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR), Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing (STHS)
Providing end-user support.
Fiber technology setup and support.
Hardware, Software, Siriusware, Network, data and backup support.
At GMR, we have done the whole network upgrade from the ground up: Upgrading Servers, Switches (L2, L3), Firewalls, the Wi-Fi network, and switching to Meraki from Unifi.
My current project at GMR involves creating new storage for all the shared data and cleaning up the storage and user profiles.
Server management (DNS, DHCP, GPO)
Microsoft support: Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, etc., using Azure, Intune, Entra.
Managing the backup infrastructure for mountain division and all Sandman Hotels using Veeam, AWS and S3 could repositories.
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, computer workstations, connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment
Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications
Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks and to coordinate access and use of computer networks
Provide problem-solving services to network users
Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records
Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls
Perform shell scripting or other basic scripting tasks
May supervise other workers in this group.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade Web-server hardware and software
Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
Control and monitor email use, Web navigation, and installed software
Respond to requests for help and information from Web site visitors and Web site designers.
