Job Description
The position of Warehouse Supervisor is a dynamic role where the ideal candidate would have worked in a HACCP-certified food manufacturing company. Trupti specializes in freshly stone-ground flour, unique spice blends and freshly roasted snacks/nuts. The ideal candidate possess knowledge of these items, processes and equipment used to produce the products. The individual preferably has an understanding of mechanical engineering to maintain these sophisticated machines and enjoys staying active while working in a fast-paced team environment.
Job Duties
Warehouse Supervisor job duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Audit, inspect and report inventory;
• Make recommendations for restocking items;
• Supervise warehouse associates, ensuring safe use of equipment;
• Establish efficient warehouse practices and protocols;
• Collaborate with executive management to set warehouse, production and team goals;
• Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives of workers in job duties;
• Stay up-to-date on federal and provincial safety and food regulations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures for safety and security, standards and regulations;
• Communicate with other departments to ensure timely product shipments and production scheduling;
• Maintain and adhere to a maintenance schedule for equipment.
• Manage, evaluate and report on warehouse productivity.
• Track and coordinate the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
• Track supplies and maintain suitable inventory levels.
• Check orders, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
• Maintain records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.
• Assign and review the work of clerks engaged in the following duties: shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and maintaining inventories of products;
• Ensure smooth operation of production, packaging and warehouse equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work.
• Maintain storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
• Deliver supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
• Various other related duties assigned by management.
Job Requirements/skills
A successful candidate will have the following:
• Experience with using stackers and pump trucks;
• A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a HACCP certified Food manufacturing facility in Canada;
• Knowledge on operating and maintaining industrial Stone-Grinders, blenders, roasters and fryers;
• Knowledge about spices, nuts and flour related products;
• Previous work experience in a warehouse (shipping, receiving, warehousing);
• Post-Secondary school education (diploma at a minimum) in business, manufacturing, mechanical engineering design or a related field;
• Possess knowledge about sophisticated food equipment and previous experience maintaining such equipment;
• Ability to communicate in English (written and oral) is required, ability to communicate in Hindi or Gujarati is an asset;
• Experience with the following software: NiceLabel, Smart Vendor and other ERP programs; and
• Bring a positive attitude that will help strengthen our strong culture of respect and diversity.
Physical Requirements
• Stand for extended periods of time
• Lift and move cases of product
• Must have the ability to talk and hear; hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment
