Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the constant supervision, safety and well being of the children (Between age 1 and 12 years)
Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behavior management techniques
Shares in the responsibility for planning, preparing and implementing stimulating, age-appropriate activities that encourage children's creativity and learning and promote each child's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development
Participates fully and consistently as a conscientious team member in caring for the children and in the overall operation of the program and center; maintains regular and open communication with program team members and all other co-workers
Act as lead staff when working with Early Childhood Assistants (ECA), non ECA's and supply staff
Observe, Supervise & Train ECAs, non ECAs and supply staff
Establishes and maintains regular communication with parents
Maintaining RECE status in good standing with Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators (Proof of Membership must be provided annually)
Job Requirement:

Transportation: Own Transportation (Free Parking available)
Work Condition & Physical Capabilities: Repetitive Tasks, Physically demanding
Credentials: Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE), First Air Certificate, CPR Certificate
Ability to Supervise: 5-10 People

Job Description
Registered Early Childhood Educators under the direction of the Supervisor works closely with all employees in the organization to plan and develop age-appropriate programs to enhance the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional develop according to Organization’s program statement and philosophy and the Child Care Early Years Act, using Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT), and How Does Learning Happen?, Quality First and Public Health Guidelines.
Registered Early Childhood Educators are expected to develop and maintain professional relationships with families.
Adherence to the legislative regulations and duties set out for an Early Childhood Educator under the current Child Care & Early Years Act.
