2. Assistant Cake Decorator
3.Assistant Mixer

Job Description 1. Assistant Pastry Chef:
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Guide and motivate the bakery and packaging team to ensure production needs are met
-Collaborate with the Pastry Chef to inspire innovation, evolving our current baked goods selection; creating new and exciting desserts to update our production selection based on seasonality, best practices, and current market trends
-Decorate baked goods and pastries using different icings, toppings etc., ensuring consistency in quality and standard
-Target efficiencies in our processes; developing and revising production schedules, based on business needs
-Ensure adherence of recipes that correspond with production schedules, preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies etc.
-Oversee quality control of baked goods, communicating any concerns or issues to the Pastry Chef
-Collaborate with Pastry Chef for ordering and inventory control; monitoring stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. ensuring orders are meeting budget
-Ensure proper use of equipment such as mixers, sheeters, pie presses, ovens, and stovetops
-Collaborate with the Pastry Chef to identify staffing needs, supporting with recruitment and training employees on all required safe kitchen practices
-Maintain an orderly kitchen, ensuring the adherence to all health and safety policies and guidelines
-Perform other duties as may be assigned

Skillset Requirements:
-3+ years’ experience in a high-volume bakery production kitchen, overseeing a team
-In depth knowledge of food preparation and baking techniques
-Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.), an asset

2. Assistant Cake Decorator:
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Ensuring the highest in product quality;
-Cake decorating, piping and working with design;
-Scooping, measuring and scaling batters, doughs, and mixes into specified portions prior to baking;
-Following recipes provided as well as following specific production schedule;
-Weigh and scale pastry ingredients for specific recipes;
-Proper use of equipment such as mixer, sheeter, pie press, oven and stove top;
-Arrange packaging of products with pastry packaging department;
-Perform other duties as may be assigned

Skillset Requirements:
-2+ years’ experience in a high-volume bakery production kitchen
-In depth knowledge of food preparation and baking techniques
-Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten free, sugarless etc.), an asset
-Knowledge of health and safety regulations – uses best practices to create a safe environment

3.Assistant Mixer
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Scooping, measuring, and scaling batters, doughs, and mixes into specified portions prior to baking
-Following recipes provided by the Pastry Chef as well as following specific production schedule
-Weighing and scaling pastry ingredients for specific recipes
-Proper use of equipment such as mixer, sheeter, pie press, oven and stove top
-Unpacking and storing supplies in refrigerators, cupboards, and all other areas
-Performing other duties as may be assigned.

Skillset requirements:
-Proper rotation of ingredients and inventory
-Ability to use scales to weigh foods and proper operation of equipment
-Expert knowledge of products, preparation, and safe handling
-Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds or less
-Ability to follow written and oral instructions

4.Bakery Production Team Member
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Follow recipes that correspond to specific production schedules
-Scooping, measuring and scaling batters, doughs, and mixes into specified portions prior to baking
-Proper use of equipment such as mixer, sheeter, pie press, oven, and stove top
-Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards, and other areas
-Ensure safety hazards are removed and/or reported
Maintain a clean working environment at all times
Perform other duties as may be assigned

Skillset Requirements:
-Proper rotation of ingredients and inventory
-Ability to use scales to weigh foods and proper operation of equipment
-Assist as required with packaging and pricing
-Ensure proper stock is available for customers
-Expert knowledge of products, preparation and safe handling
-Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds or less
