Airdrie-based family is presently seeking an experienced caregiver to care for their 2 young children ages 8 and 11 years old.  Childcare will take place in the employer's home from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday. You must be able to accommodate changes in your schedule: must be able to work overtime on short notice and work on weekends as may be required.

Location: Airdrie, AB T4B 2V3

Pay Rate: $16.35 - 16.50/ Hour, 40 hours/ Week 

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full time

·         Languages -English

·         Education - Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

·         Experience - 1 year to less than 2 years

·         Security and Safety - Drug test, Bondable, Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check

·         Transportation/Travel Information - Public transportation is available

·         Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities -Repetitive tasks, Overtime required, Physically demanding

·         Work Location Information - Work in employer's/client's home

·         Work Site Environment - Non-smoking

·         Additional Skills - Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens, Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties

·         Specific Skills - Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Take children to and from school and to appointments, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, Organize, activities such as games and outings for children, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Supervise and care for children, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Help children with homework

·         Weight Handling - Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

·         Work Setting - Employer's home, Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: This is NOT a condition of employment

·         Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.) - Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Red Cross Babysitting course.
