Must be able to speak, read and write English.

The elderly woman (82 years old) understands only Punjabi Language. Therefore, some understanding of commonly used Punjabi Language words may be beneficial.

Note: This is NOT a condition of the Employment at all.

Experience & Requirements:

College or other courses in geriatric or related caregiving may be preferred                                                               2 year to less than 3-year experience in geriatric or related caregiving

Job duties:

·         Provide companionship to an elderly woman (82 years old);

·         Assist her in doing her daily activities including bathing, dressing, keeping personal care/hygiene etc.;

·         Prepare and serve prescribed nutritious meals;

·         Provide bedside and personal care;

·         Accompany her to appointments with doctor, physiotherapist  and others;

·         Ensuring timely administration of medications and routine health-related tasks;

·         Accompany her in short walks in the home backyard / nearby parks and assisting her in doing regular easy exercise;

·         Keeping the safe, hygienic and cheerful environment around her;

·         Treat her in a polite/respectful manner.

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Reference required

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

Repetitive tasks, combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling

Personal Suitability: Punctuality, Reliability, Organized, Judgement, Client focus.

Work Location Information: Employer`s home in Squamish

 Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
