Childhood Program – Assistant Supervisor position

Child Care is seeking an enthusiastic professional to join
our child care team as an Assistant Assistant Supervisor on a full time basis. We
are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced individual who will operate with a
entrepreneurial spirit and to create a fun & productive team environment
and is detailed oriented. This is a
great opportunity for you to be the pioneer to assist operating our Daycare
Facility in Brampton!!.
The Assistant Supervisor will operate the
facility in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and aligns with the Akal’s core values. The Assistant Supervisor will
also ensure the day to day operations of the centre are met in compliance with
all levels of government regulations.
The Assistant Supervisor ensures high quality care for the children and
families are exceeded. With the guidance
of the Centre Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor will be responsible for all
daycare programming, financial viability and staffing requirements. As a Assistant Supervisor, You will be expected
to create and maintain an atmosphere of learning, safety and respect in the
facility. The Assistant Supervisor ensures that the policies and procedures as
set out by Akal’s Board of Directors are followed at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
·
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a licensed
Early Childhood facility with knowledge and experience operating a child care
facility as a Assistant Supervisor.
·
Registered Early Childhood Educator, with good
standing per College of ECE’s
·
Experience with age groups 18 months to 7 years
i.e Toddlers, Preschoolers and Kindergarten
·
Medical Certificate per CCEYA, up-to-date medical
including Tuberculosis test and immunization
·
Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check, less
than 3 months old
·
Standard First Aid and CPR level C
·
Valid Drivers License with a reliable vehicle and
insurance
·
Proficient in relevant software, Word, Excel,
Publisher, Powerpoint etc.
·
Must be Fluent in English.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·
Thorough understanding of CCEYA and licensing
requirements. As per CCEYA you will
maintain all records
·
You will determine the staff requirements and Recruit
and train qualified staff
·
Supervise staff by monitoring, mentoring and
motivating staff to achieve high standards of our daycare facility
·
Performs administrative tasks accurately
·
Maximize operating efficiency by planning and
implementing necessary procedures and systems.
·
Must take responsibility on enrolment of
children, including any leads or inquiries and monitoring waitlists so that the
facility is able to successfully obtain full enrollment. Communicate with families on an ongoing basis.
·
Planning and implementing a Marketing strategy
for our facility.
·
Maintains relationships with community groups,
agencies, churches/temples, schools etc.
·
Participates in Meetings with Centre Supervisor
and/or the Board of Directors and Leads meetings with child care staff
·
Other duties as assigned by Centre Supervisor
and/or the Board of Directors.
·

Must be available for shifts within the hours of
630am to 630pm.
