MG Demolition is an interior demolition company located in the Vancouver Lower Mainland.  MG Demolition offers customized commercial interior demolition, residential interior demolition, drywall and flooring removal and hazardous material abatement services for structural, renovation, redesign and construction projects.  Our management team has over 50 years of combined industry experience and works closely with contractors, project managers, companies and individuals to ensure that each project is done in a safe and time-efficient manner with no disruption to the construction project.  We provide a variety of commercial demolition services which range from small retail stores to restaurants, office buildings and warehouses.  Our residential demolition services include but not limited to basement demolition and rip out, bathroom demolition and rip out, home remodeling that requires interior demolition work and kitchen demolition.

Job overview:

Position: Construction Labourers (NOC 7611)

Location: Vancouver Lower Mainland

Number of Vacancies: 05

Wage: $25.00 per hour

Hours: Permanent, full time, 40 hours per week, overtime may be required

Start date: As soon as possible

Qualified candidates will be offered the position immediately

Job requirement:

-          Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate;  

-          Experience: Experience in a construction labourer position is an asset but not a requirement;

-          Basic English language comprehension;

-          Capability to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs);

-          Ability to follow instructions efficiently;

-          Strong work ethic; and

-          Successful candidates must own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including CSA Approved steel toe boots, hard hat/safety helmet, work gloves and high visibility vest prior to the start date of employment.

Job duties:

1.      Load and unload construction materials and move material to work areas;

2.      Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities;

3.      Assist in demolishing buildings or other structures using prying bars and other tools, and sort, clean and pile salvaged materials;

4.      Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using equipment;

5.      Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators and tampers as directed;

6.      Follow Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Regulations;

7.      Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants and remove asbestos and other hazardous materials;

8.      Direct traffic at or near construction sites;

9.      Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed;

10.  Maintain a safe and organized work environment;

11.  Co-operate with Site Safety to ensure Occupational Health and Safety Program and Procedures as directed by MG Demolition are followed; and

12.  Wear personal protective equipment, ensure its in proper working condition and understand the limits of its use.
