Japanese Charcoal Grill Diner “Zakkushi on Carlton” at 193 Carlton Street, Toronto Ontario, is looking for a Yakitori Chef. Salary ?$3,800.00 per month based on 40.0 hours per week.

Qualifications;

• Must have a minimum of two year experience and technique for Japanese charcoal (Binchotan) grilling.

• Must have a minimum of two year experience in preparing and cooking Japanese cuisine cold and hot appetizers such as; sushi, salads, grilled seafood, and deep fried fish vegetables & meat.

• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as assigned

• Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment

• Must be able to plan seasonal menus

• Basic oral English required

• Prepare and cook Japanese charcoal (Binchotan) grilled dishes
• Prepare and cook Japanese cold and hot appetizers
• Maintain a high quality of freshness for sushi, sashimi, salads and yakitori grilled dishes
• Supervise cooks and kitchen staff in their relevant duties of preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Instruct and oversee the training of cooks in the preparation and technique of Japanese charcoal grilling orders, and cooking and presentation of dishes
• Check food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices
• Estimate expected food consumption, maintain an inventory record and discuss with management when re-stocking supplies is required
• Create seasonal menus, when required
